Whois-scanner is both Unix and Linux compatible. Whois-Scanner is a free and simple Perl script which helps you keeping an eye on domains you consider to buy. You can run it from cron to monitor an unlimited list of domains and the script will send you a message as soon as one of the domains becomes available.
