2nd IEEE Workshop on Industrial Strength Formal Specification Techniques (Wift '98

The first group of the 19 contributions to the October 1998 WIFT workshop sponsored by Florida Atlantic U. focus on specification techniques, including integrated ones. The second set concentrate on lessons learned and strategies for technology exchange involving formal methods. The keynote speaker from Praxis Critical Systems asks: "What does industry need from formal specification techniques?" The second keynoter provocatively considers: "The Industrial Use of Formal Methods: Was Darwin Right?" The concluding position paper discusses "pushbutton" analysis via integration of industrial tools with formal validation. A website contains updated materials regarding workshop activities.
